Scott and Bobbie Thomas combine their talents to create a variety of functional and decorative stoneware pottery. Their dedication to creating quality pottery with a distinct design is a fulfilling challenge. They offer a level of skill that compliments each others style, creating a pottery that is warm and presents a natural beauty.

Scott enjoys turning on the potter’s wheel. His large turned platters, bowls, and pitchers have a traditional shape while his vases have a much more decorative appeal. Scott also makes mugs, teapots, bean pots, and baking dishes. Once his pieces are made, Bobbie adds their signature rope handles and any decoration as she completes the process of firing and glazing. Each piece is handled an average of 18 times before the process is complete.

Bobbie turns smaller items, although her passion lies with hand-building. Using flat pieces of clay she creates many sizes of trays and platters. Custom tiled mirrors, lamps, oval and round planters are a great addition to any home or patio décor. Her chickens, rabbits, cats, frogs and turtles are some of her most popular designs. Her whimsical tri-footed serving pieces are especially unique. She embellishes her work by adding sculpted flowers or with impressions of leaves and textures made by using handmade clay stamps. Dogwood flowers and winter tree scenes are painted freehand creating an original piece of art. The natural detail in her designs is most intriguing.

Scott and Bobbie individually handcraft each piece using a speckled brown or white stoneware clay. The glazes are carefully mixed using dry chemicals, which are non-toxic and lead-free. Their pottery is fired to a very high temperature producing ware that will not absorb moisture and is exceptionally durable for daily use. Each piece is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.

When you visit their shop you will enjoy the rough architecture of the renovated farm buildings overlooking a beautiful pond and landscaped area. The studio has wonderful open space with large windows to see pottery being made. A cabin serves as their sales gallery in which you’ll find a pleasant shopping experience. When you arrive you will be welcomed by a covered patio area where you can enjoy the lush greenery of flowers while resting in rocking chairs.
