Fiva McCanless
Fiva McCanless is a folk artist working primarily in ceramics. She grew up in a family of potters, which isn’t all that uncommon in the pottery centric town of Seagrove, NC. Her parents, Al and Milly opened Dover Pottery when Fiva was a small child. There, she grew up accidentally eating clay and pretending there was a village of subterranean trolls beneath the studio.
Today, Fiva uses the craft passed on to her from her parents and older siblings to share her imaginative inner world with the hope of making a connection with other humans who might like cats, or Star Trek, or well prepared coffee, or (hopefully) whimsical folk pottery.
