“Pottery making is addictive.  I have always known that I would create useful art for daily living”

[...Better Living Through Handmade Pottery ... It's More than a job, It's a lifestyle....]

I’ve been working with clay since 1976 in my high school art class. In 1981 my professional career started in North Carolina working as a potter for hire.  My work as a journeyman has taken me back and forth between the North Carolina Coast and Seagrove, then north to New England, where I worked on the production staff as designer for a Salt Glaze Pottery.

In 1998 after opening my own studio in Northwood, NH I became a Juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, and the New Hampshire Potters Guild.  In 2002, I started teaching pottery lessons at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, and then began to give workshops at other schools, art centers and private studios. Returning to North Carolina in 2010, I now create my work, and offer hands-on pottery lessons here in Seagrove, NC at Michele Hastings & Jeff Brown Pottery.  Your next pottery experience is just a click away at www.gypsypotters.net.
