Five Oaks Pottery
“Erin makes a variety of pieces including dinnerware, jewelry, animal sculptures and seasonal decor.”
[...I've strived to push every aspect of my work little by little in a persistently cohesive direction. Sometimes I feel both as pliable as wet clay and as strong as fired ceramic. Remember to make time for play and stay on the path at the same time....]
Erin Younge was a co-founder of The Triangle Studio in Seagrove in 2019. That studio is a collaboration of multiple artists, and she has shown her work there for 7 years. While establishing that studio with Kate Waltman, she has been slowly building her own shop about 3 miles down the Pottery Highway next to her home studio. The grande opening for Five Oaks Pottery will be Saturday, March 13th, 2027. Website and social media links for this location will be announced at the end of 2026.
Erin enjoys a diverse studio practice of clay hand-building, throwing on the wheel and slip-casting, which allows her work to take multiple paths. Her tableware pieces are decorated in slip-trailed patterns and a color palette inspired by 1960s and 1970s Pyrex surface designs that her grandmother used growing up. Her most popular slip patterns include the Infinite Wheat and Daisy Chain series. Erin participates in seasonal events in Seagrove by making classic ceramic gourds with the Potters’ Pumpkin Patch Trail group and ornaments during Holiday Open House. She loves to create her various animal sculptures and vessel series, often with a mythical twist, some of her favorite creatures to make include jackalopes, unicorns, jackarams, dragons and chickens.
